A simple TRX-to-TRX transfer is one of the cheapest operations on any major blockchain. Each TRX transfer consumes approximately 268 Bandwidth points. Since every TRON account receives 600 free Bandwidth points daily, most users can execute two TRX transfers per day at zero cost. If your free Bandwidth is exhausted, the network charges 1,000 SUN per Bandwidth point — for a 268-point transfer, that is 0.268 TRX, or about $0.09 at current prices. This is drastically cheaper than Ethereum gas fees which can exceed $5–$50 during peak periods.
Sending USDT TRC-20 is more expensive due to the Energy requirement. The current fee schedule (post Proposal #104, August 2025) sets the Energy unit price at 100 sun. A transfer to a non-empty wallet requires ~65,000 Energy units = 6.5 TRX (~$2.08). A first-time wallet (new to USDT) requires ~130,000 Energy units = 13 TRX (~$4.16). Account activation for a completely new TRON wallet requires a one-time flat fee of 1 TRX. Using staking or energy rental services can reduce USDT transfer costs to under 4 TRX, with rental services achieving as low as 3–4 TRX per transfer.
